Motorcycles take over Rocky Point, Mexico this weekend
November 8th through the 11th is the 12th Annual Rocky Point Motorcycle Rally. Wow, has it really been 12 years since the first one? Over the years the Motorcycle Rally has increased in size, not only the number of bikes, but also the number of participants and spectators as well. It is a great sight to see thousands of bikers – of all types, makes and models, converge upon the town of Rocky Point. The sound is great as well – not to put other bikes down, but there is nothing like the sound of a good set of Harley pipes. Having once had a Harley myself, I can vogue for the “brotherhood” bikers share. To own and ride a Harley or any bike puts you in a certain category and gives you a certain amount of respect, provided you earn it and you will not find a more charitable group of people. Bikers get together for all kinds of events including toy drives and the Rocky Point Motorcycle Rally which donates money to local charities.
If you don’t own a bike, but would like to be a part of the action you are welcome to do so – spectators are always welcome and they Rally has some great shows and events. They take over Old Port and Calle 13 with their numerous bikes so you might have to park and walk to see the action, but it is their weekend to enjoy Rocky Point, Mexico and we welcome them.
If you do own a bike you can register for the event on Thursday, which gets you lots of goodies and tickets to shows and food. Or you can just hang out with all the other bikers, but remember, this is a charitable event so your contribution goes to putting this enormous event together as well as donating to local charities. If I still had my Harley, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my weekend than attending the 12th Annual Rocky Point Rally. The weather is fantastic and the locals are so accommodating – everyone comes out to see all of the beautiful bikes.
