Thanksgiving Weekend full of events: Garage Sale and Auction at JJ’s Cantina plus more.
No doubt you have lots of stuff lying around that you would like to be rid of and it just so happens that you’re coming to Rocky Point, Mexico for Thanksgiving weekend. Great! Bring whatever you don’t want and donate it to the Garage Sale being held on the 22nd and 23rd of November at JJ’s Cantina in Cholla Bay. Hang out and volunteer your services on all or any day or stay and “shop” – you know the old saying, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. All proceeds from the garage sale and auction will go to benefit the Santa Claus Club, which is a great charity founded and ran by John Fowler. John and the Santa Claus Club is responsible for giving away tons of presents, bicycles, food, clothing, non-medical medical supplies and so much more to the people of Cholla Bay and to families who live in the barrios. A lot of these families are living I clapboard houses and barely have enough to eat never mind presents for Christmas or a new warm winter jacket, pair of warm sweats or blankets. The amount of goods that John and his helpers give out every year is staggering and the Santa Claus Club is a perfect charity if you have items that you don’t want, but perhaps someone else can still benefit from.
The first day of the “Garage Sale” will be on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday the 22nd from 8:00 AM to Noon so there will still be plenty of time left for turkey and football. Friday the 23rd the Garage Sale will also be held from 8:00 AM to Noon. John Fowler is looking for anyone who wants to volunteer (his contact info is below) or just head over to JJ’s Cantina and dive in. The “Auction” will be held on Saturday, November 24th and will start at 1:00 PM and last until they are finished with items. If you own a business or offer a service of some sort, I’m sure John would be happy to add more auction items.
