Please remember that shopping places in smaller towns usually close down for lunch and an afternoon siesta.

As far as nightlife is concerned, the most action is found in the bigger cities - pubs, restaurants, nightclubs, etc. Just make sure to respect the locals when you're celebrating and not bring unwanted attention to yourself.
