Mexico After Dark

Mexico is a big, beautiful country with the great advantage of being very near to the U.S. border. Thus, it is not just a favorite holiday destination for Americans, but also people who are visiting the United States from other countries often travel to Mexico for a couple of days too.

Mountains, hills, lakes, beaches, ocean, desert, urban life, etc. – whatever you wish for, Mexico has something fun in store for everyone! It is a famous destination for water sports and ocean-related activities, but the culture and heritage of the country also fascinates and draws millions of tourists each year.

But what about the night life? After a heavenly day spent in the Sonoran desert or at a nice beach, what does Mexico offer for evening shoppers or for people who are looking forward to some great night life?

Mexican culture is many centuries old and there are no shortage of shopping opportunities, especially for tourists interested in artifacts, crafts, arts, jewellery etc. But the younger generation who may not be interested in “heritage shopping” can shop from all the modern day malls found in cities all over Mexico.

If you want some fine, authentic jewelry, stop over at Taxco. This town is famous for its silversmiths in the jewelry market. Oaxaca is famous for its pottery making and Leon for leather goods. Of course, if you cannot visit these places, there will definitely be some shops in your area which will be selling these goods too. And , of course, you can just walk around the local market and pick up souvenirs.

Please remember that shopping places in smaller towns usually close down for lunch and an afternoon siesta.

As far as nightlife is concerned, the most action is found in the bigger cities – pubs, restaurants, nightclubs, etc. Just make sure to respect the locals when you re celebrating and not bring unwanted attention to yourself. As far as smaller destinations are concerned, most of them have nice local pubs and restaurants that line the main area. Most of the beach resorts have their own activities and parties.

If you are planning a weekend getaway from the craziness of your busy life, just drive down to Rocky Point, Mexico. Rent a condo at Laguna Shores Resort. Visit us at lagunashoresresorts.com for further details.
