Secret Beaches of Mexico

One thing about Mexico is definitely not a secret – it is one of the top 10 vacation destinations in the world and has many of the most gorgeous beaches anywhere! For any traveler, Cancun comes to mind when Mexico is spoken about. But just like every destination, the country of Mexico has many “secret” and not frequently visited beaches. The beauty of these beaches lie in that hordes of tourists have not yet discovered them and thus they are still pristine and breathtaking! These virgin beaches are spectacular and as yet have not been overrun by  capitalism.

Xpu Ha Beach is one of the best white sandy beaches, and is located just south of Puerto Aventuras. There is one resort there, but the beach is not privately owned. Not many tourists know that the snorkeling and diving are great there. Or kick back your sandals and lie on the beach for hours – just get up in between to collect shells or sip some Caribbean cocktails!

Playa Del Amor or the Lover’s beach is another less traveled and lesser known beach. This is the spot where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean and the waves and the tides are spectacular. It can be a little dangerous to swim here, but the view is breathtaking!

La Paz Beach of Baja California is a beautiful stretch of water. Baja California is a great tourist destination in itself but the few beaches along this town are spectacular and provide perfect photo opportunities for tourists!

If you want to see vivid sea life, corals and underwater small caves, Playa Santa Cruz will feature amongst the top destinations. Not many people know about this destination and thus it is still pristine and relatively untouched by human civilization.

If you are interested in rugged terrains, bays and rocky features, try visiting Huatulco in Oaxaca. The numerous beaches here have a very different appeal to them.

El Careyes in Jalisco is another less frequented area, but if there is paradise on earth, this is it!

Puerto Peñasco’s most known beach is Sandy Beach but have you visited the Laguna Shores beach where you can experience the high tide changes?

The above destinations are some of the less traveled and not as well-known beaches in Mexico. They are definitely not as commercialized or crowded as some of the other, better known beaches in resort areas. But if you want a relaxing, beautiful and perfect afternoon with your loved ones, all of these beaches should be on your to-do list.
