The tide is high and the weather is perfect in Rocky Point, Mexico

There isn’t a better month to come to Rocky Point, Mexico than October. This is my absolute favorite month of the year. The weather here in Rocky Point is perfect for every activity and the event calendar is in overload this month. Rocky Point seems to come alive this month. We are just coming off a hot and humid summer and everyone is always so happy when the weather flips. Days are still warm enough for shorts and bathing suits and the nights and early mornings cool off enough to wear a shirted top.

Every weekend there is something planned in Rocky Point. This weekend you can enjoy the music of long-time Rocky Point faves Mark Mulligan and Roger Clyne: Two great musical talents who love Rocky Point and grace us with their music a few times a year. I have been to see both many times and it’s always a great, fun time where to get to meet lots of other fans and make some new friends.

Of course, one of my favorite events happens towards the end of October – the El Golfo Run – put on twice a year by my folks, Tom and Sandra O’Hare, owners of the Rocky Point Times Newspaper. If you have never been to El Golfo de Santa Clara, or just want to take a fun 4×4 trip down the beach and through the hills, they are a great group to go with. Let them you know you want to go by calling Alicia at 383-6325 or emailing rockypointtimes@yahoo.com. Alicia can answer all of your questions and you are guaranteed to have a great time. There are many events crammed into October so you will always be able to find some entertainment.

Here at Laguna Shores, high tide and October go great together like peanut and jelly. Such fantastic weather to enjoy all of their outdoor activities and amenities. It’s a perfect time to grab a kayak and explore the estuary or paddle around in the Sea of Cortez. When you come back you can relax by the pool, play a round of miniature golf, grab a bite to eat, or just relax on the beach cabana beds. When the tide returns, take the kayak out again or grab a bicycle and have a nice cruise down the beach and around the property.

If you haven’t made your reservations this month at Laguna Shores, visit their website at www.lagunashoresresorts.com and book right online. You don’t want to miss the perfect month Rocky Point has to offer – though all months are pretty great. At Laguna Shores, you can choose from 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom condo rentals as well as homes. Check out their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/lagunashoresresort to see how you can win a fractional share in one of their condos or one of many vacation stays.

    Hiya Lanette,

I’m big Bob. Used to run Margaritavilla and the boats for Rick Barnes, then again later for Martin. I’m not down there anymore however. What a shocker to hear about your mom!! I am so sorry.

So, do they ever do the El Golfo runs any more? My brother and I went twice. Too much fun!!

    Hi to Wayne,
    Take care,
    Big Bob
